What will be coming in 2006?

1. A new Prisma backbone using TCP/IP;

2. Capacity for Remote Operations for ALL Prisma workstations - thus allowing remote operators to perform any task on any workstation on any Prisma station.

What was new in 2005?

1. Ability for Prisma Manager PC to send Emails via SMTP to the Back-Office PC; this functionality can be used to replace the old BO-FTP functionality.

2. Ability for the Manager PC to send Emails to a specified email address in case of specific system outages; This functionality will allow Retail network administrators and/or support organisations to be warned in case of problems.

3. Prisma now interfaces to a new Fuel Card Pin pad, the SC5000 payment terminal. This terminal has various advantages over the previous terminal, the PVT 2010.

4. Prisma interfaces to a new generation of Point of Payment terminals for Bank cards were introduced in Serbia and Romania.

What was new in 2004?

1. Using a special module in the HOIS program suite, it is now possible to perform Remote operations on the Management PC of any Prisma station from the Head Office. Remote Operation modes include:

• Look Only mode: The HOIS operator "looks over the shoulder of the local operator"
• Look and Type: The HOIS operator looks and also has taken over the keyboard from the local operator; the local operator can see what is being done by the HOIS operator
• Secret: The Hois Operator can hide what he is doing from the local operator (local screen is in fact replaced by a "do not touch" screen
• SecretDOS: the remote operator can even go into DOS and perform a number of maintenance functions - without the local operators seeing what is happening.

2. It is possible to specify from the HOIS that part of or the entire Prisma database should be uploaded to the HOIS, thus allowing data recovery without site visits.

3. TCP/IP communications between Stations and HOIS are now also possible (as alternative to X.25 and Dial up communications).
